1. Apple Paid to Nokia :
- After a quick fight, Apple and Nokia settled a patent lawsuit back in May.
- Nokiamob first spotted that Nokia announced that it has received a $2 billion upfront cash payment from Apple (€1.7 billion).
- The lawsuit began late last year. Nokia first accused Apple of infringing some of Nokia’s patents as well as patents from NSN and Alcatel-Lucent — Nokia owns those companies and their respective patent portfolios.

- More than 30 patents were involved in the lawsuits covering technologies in Apple’s mobile devices going back as far as the iPhone 3GS. Apple had been paying licensing fees for Nokia’s patents, but failed to reach a new agreement when the earlier contract expired.
2. Essential Phone Camera Leaked :
- Essential Phone images tell us there is no obvious camera bump. The company said the cam performs well even in low light conditions so you can capture premium quality images all the time.
- The device comes with a dual camera system that is similar to other smartphones with such feature–there is a monochrome sensor and another RGB sensor.
- According to Ling who has been working on the camera of the Essential Phone since October last year : the first rear camera is to apply RGB color filter (red, green, blue) at different pixel locations while the other one is for monochrome (black and white). The two cameras are activated at the same time and then images are combined to produce a final image that is very rich, crisp, and clear.

- When the dual rear cameras are launched for taking a snap, the surrounding are first examined by the camera sensors to check the available light.
3. Income Tax via Instagram :
Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government is planning to introduce a new warehouse of virtual information which will not only collect information from traditional sources like banks but also from social media sites.
- This new system which will be called ‘Project Insight’ will match residents’ spending patterns with income declarations, as per the report.
- Project Insight’ which will complement the world’s largest biometric identity database has been built over a period of seven years at a cost of about 10 billion rupees ($156 million). This will be India’s most ambitious tax overhaul policy till date and the best time to introduce it could be right after the implementation of the GST.
- Project Insight is more similar to UK’s Connect which was built at an estimated cost of 100 million pounds. It is believed to have prevented a loss of 4.1 billion pounds ($5.4 billion) in revenue since inception in 2010.
- Last year, the government had contracted L&T Infotech Ltd. — an arm of India’s largest engineering conglomerate Larsen & Toubro Ltd. — to help build the network and boost voluntary compliance.
4. Youtube and Play Music :
- Google Play Music and YouTube Red will be merged to create a new streaming service, according to a report from The Verge, which Google then essentially confirmed with a statement indicating that changes are not taking place immediately.
- The company said users would receive plenty of notice before any changes were made, and noted it was still in the process of evaluating how to best bring its music offerings together.

- It's not yet clear whether the two apps will merge -- it seems unlikely, because they have such separate focuses. One streams music, the other plays videos; combining them wouldn't exactly make things simpler. The move doesn't herald a major change for users
5. Apple HomePod revealed:
- Apple pushed out firmware for its $349 HomePod smart speaker ahead of the device's launch in December, and developer Steve Troughton-Smith has been sharing some interesting tidbits online that he managed to unearth in the code.
- HomePod will never support third-party apps (remember the first iPhone), and Apple may indeed add the capability between now and December, but as the firmware stands at the moment you won't be installing Spotify or Audible on the HomePod.
- Troughton-Smith believes the top touch surface is an LED matrix that could display shapes and symbols, not just big LED lights.
6. Tesla Model 3 on road:
- Tesla hosted a Model 3 “handoff” event for employees at its factory in Fremont, California, giving 30 select employees production-ready vehicles ahead of the car’s official launch in .

- The car is controlled via the Tesla app on your phone, though it does come with a credit card-sized key too (for valets, for example).
- Price/range: standard is $35,000 with 22o mile range, 5.6 sec 0-60 mph, and 130 mph top speed. Long Range is $44,000 with 310 miles range, 5.1 sec 0-60 mph, 140 mph top speed.
7. Motorola X4:
- Motorola Moto X4 is expected be to be launched with a price tag of 350 Euro (approx. Rs 26,388) in Eastern Europe.
- The phone was to be launched on 30 June with a price tag of Rs 20,999 in India. But the new leak suggests that the Motorola device will be costlier than the expected price.
